This sweet, GORGEOUS little girl is visiting all the way from Alaska! She's from a little island where the beaches are full of rocks, so she was soooo interested in the sand. She was fascinated, often watching her feet move in it and raking it up with her hands and slowly letting it pour out. When we got to the water, she couldn't have been more happy...it was so fun to watch how excited she was by the scene!
Ohhhhhhhh, this sweet little baby boy. He's the newest addition to this beautiful family and they couldn't be more smitten and in love. He's absolutely PERFECT and his older siblings give him all the love...so many hugs and so many kisses. They're so sweet together.
I've known this family for a few years and was so happy when they asked me to do this session for them! I was so excited to meet him and get to snuggle him <3 He gave us so many smiles while I was there!
This session was totally different for me and I couldn't have enjoyed it more! It's fun to shoot something that isn't your norm, especially on a nice night in a fun location.
Austin recently graduated high school and is off to flight school in a few days. His mom contacted me to get photos done of him at this stage in his life, which I love that she did. Maybe it's because I'm a photographer, or maybe it's because I have kids. But, I think that documenting momentous milestones in a child's life is so important!
Good luck, Austin!
Extended family sessions are always pretty popular over the summer, when families tend to gather at the beach! I've known Jordan for about 6 1/2 years and have photographed her family numerous times. I've met her sister a few times, but this is the first time I've had a chance to meet her brother! His little girl was precioussssss.
We scheduled this session for last Wednesday. It pouuuuuured all week long, so we kept having to push the session. It was questionable for a bit, but it ended up being sunny (and insanely humid) on Friday night, so we went for it. I'm so glad it worked out because her brother's family was flying out on Saturday!
We headed downtown, along with everyone else in Wilmington, for their family session! Downtown was sooooo busy.
This family was visiting Kure Beach last week and contacted me to do a family session while they were here. I'm so glad I got to meet them because they were so great to work with. For their family session, we headed to Fort Fisher and the weather was ABSOLUTELY perfect. Gorgeous light, perfect temps, low humidity (yes! so rare here!). I swear it has rained everyday since and I am oooover it.
The kids are the same age as my kids so getting to know them was fun because their interests are prettyyyy similar to my kids' interests! :) They were a dream to have in front of my camera; they were super agreeable and sweet with one another. They totally made my job easy. The two of them most definitely earned the ice cream that they got after the session! They were onnnnn and I loved it.
I photograph several sets of twins and I always love taking photos of new sets! It's so much fun to witness the dynamic between twins. They each have their own little personalities and their bond is undeniable. It's so sweet.
Kenan and Sloan are DOLLS. We headed down to Wrightsville Beach for their family session. The girls were soooo cute and happy throughout their entire session. Little Kenan is a little lover and was happy to dole out kisses the entire session!! Sloan was on the giving end most of the time, which made for some really sweet sister photos <3
The session ended with them in the water and both of them soaking wet. They had a blast :) Oh, and those dressessssss. So perfect for the beach!
This beautiful little girl is turning ONEEEEE!
Ophelia was so much fun to photograph. I always loooove first year sessions. The first birthday is such an exciting, bittersweet milestone. Your baby isn't quite a baby anymore, but they're so sweet and squishy still. I lovelovelove babies, but the second year is the best, I think. They start to do so much; they start working on words and walking, they emerge into a little person with fun quirks. It's the best.
Sweet Ophelia was a dream to photograph, despite not lacking the grass! We ended with a cake smash, much to her delight. She would've sat and ate that entire cake if we would've let her! She was being so dainty with it, swooping her little finger into the icing and then into her mouth. It was the cutest.
The weather was perfect and we couldn't have asked for better light. I just love when the sun is shining and light pours into this field. It's probably one of my favorite locations.
